Architectural photography is the intersection of my two passions: photography and architecture-design.
I photograph using natural light to highlight the materials, perspectives, and volumes created by the architect.

Kosa Town Park Office by YUKO ABE ATELIER & Yasuna Nakamura - ff Plan
A Park-like Workspace Bringing Vibrancy and Connection to the Community
Located in the heart of Kosa Town in Kumamoto Prefecture, we have planned a “Park Office” that gently connects the community, businesses, lifestyle, work, nature, and the urban environment. This facility is designed not only as a support center for startup companies but also as a “community park” where local residents are free to visit, converse, and help cultivate the space.
gelateria SaLto by YUKO ABE ATELIER & Yasuna Nakamura - ff Plan
A small “leap” in everyday life.
The facility functions as a gelato store, with the first floor as a store and the second floor as a production room and office space.
The store space on the first floor is lit by a series of ground windows that let in soft light. The interior is based on earth colors of browns and beiges with pink-brown accents, as if in response to the gelato made from local vegetables and fruits, giving a soft impression that is friendly to families and women.
On the second floor, stable natural light is brought in from the high sidelights on the north side, ensuring brightness that does not require lighting for daytime work.
The overall building plan takes advantage of the long and narrow site shape along the front road. The large overhanging eaves and cedar-clad exterior walls create an appearance of warmth and presence in the suburban landscape. The wood is visually continuous both externally and internally, allowing visitors to experience the feel of the material itself.
The store is not only a store, but also a quiet “springboard” for connecting with society, a place that softly connects people to the town.
Renovation of the Nakashima Clinic by YUKO ABE ATELIER & Yasuna Nakamura - ff Plan
This renovation reorganizes the ground-floor consultation area and brings a new sense of light and comfort to the building.
The central theme is as follows: “A space that naturally makes you want to take a deep breath.”
Since the new director specializes in respiratory medicine, the design aims to create a refreshing and soothing environment, bathed in soft, invigorating light.
Reinterpreting the memory of the skylight: The existing building originally featured a small skylight that still allowed some natural light to enter. We designed a louvered ceiling with integrated lighting that creates the appearance and atmosphere of a large skylight.
The space is illuminated by a combination of natural light from the actual skylight and the soft glow of lighting concealed behind the louvers.
This creates a soft, even brightness throughout the day. The vertical rhythm of the louvers serves as a key visual motif.
